What is a Superhero?

Have you ever noticed, whenever you are wanting to make a change in your life, start something new, fix a perceived problem, there always seems to be two voices in your head talking to you?

The one that says “Oh what if…” and the one that comes right behind it and, usually more loudly, loves to tell you all the reasons “Why NOT”

It has some favorite expressions.

“I can’t because…” or

“I would if only…. or

“I could but…

In the world of fact, that voice is logical, practical, even (we tell ourselves) mature. I mean, look at the state of the world, look at my finances, I have a health issue or diagnosis, look at this new idea, I don’t have any idea how, I am too old, I am too young….

Let’s face it. As humans we don’t like change. Change is always something new. Something unknown. And if we don’t listen to that logical voice, the voice of the accepted norms of the world or the well meaning voice of your family, or friends or colleagues, or doctors or teachers, that voice can get mean. It throws our fears at us.

When we listen closely and still hear the voice that says, “yes, but I would love this…”, we realize that voice is actually coming from our heart.

Each and every one of us has the potential to be a hero in the moment. When we offer a hug to a friend, or comfort a child, we are being a hero. There are countless stories of heroes in history.

For me, a Superhero is the one who has the courage to decide to believe in the possibilities. The voice that comes from your own heart. To live fully into everything you were created to be.

The world and our own subconscious seeks to keep us in a safety zone of the accepted norm. “Don’t upset the apple cart,” Don’t rock the boat”. “Get your head out of the clouds and learn to live in the REAL world.” We have all been raised this way. 95% of the world doesn’t even realize they have a choice. A choice to rewrite these patterns of thinking. And…

Truthfully, it is the simplest and at the same time, the most difficult thing we will ever do. Which is not our fault really. Our subconscious minds are like a computer program. It has recorded everything we have ever experienced or learned. Without support and the tools to transform our lives, our minds get the pre-recorded information and we fall back into the patterns that have created the results we see in our lives.

As Dream Builder Coaches, we go through lengthy and in-depth training in understanding the tools that help us rewrite those patterns of thinking and create the dreams of our lives.
